Good Hope Cattle is Hiring: Full-Time Ranch Hand (Live-In Position)

Oak Creek, Colorado – near Steamboat Springs

We’re looking for a full-time Ranch Hand to join our team at Good Hope Cattle — a husband-and-wife-run ranch surrounded by National Forest.

This is a live-in position with housing provided: a one-bedroom cabin with a loft and garage. Utilities are paid. Compensation and other details are negotiable based on experience.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Building and maintaining barbed wire and welded pipe fencing
  • Flood irrigation and installing/maintaining electric fencing for rotational grazing
  • Spring calving, branding, vaccinations, cattle handling, and processing
  • Loading and delivering cattle to the Front Range or local meat processors
  • Ditch work and equipment operation (excavator, skid steer, etc.)
  • Assisting with hay operations: cutting, raking, baling, unloading, and stacking
  • Equine care and support as needed
  • Winter responsibilities: snow plowing and removal, daily cattle feeding, water system management, and basic cold-weather maintenance

Experience is required. References are needed.
