About Us
Our ranch is a working ranch with cattle, goats, horses, and elk, along with wildlife management operations under a Texas wildlife exemption. We value dependable team members who take pride in animal care, land stewardship, and keeping the ranch running smoothly year-round.
Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled ranch hand to help care for livestock and wildlife, maintain facilities and equipment, and assist with pasture and land management. This is a hands-on role that requires physical labor, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Essential Daily Duties
- Maintain barns, pens, and work areas including cleaning out stalls and barn daily.
- Weekly trash duty. Collection of all trash and recycling on the ranch and placement each Tuesday morning.
- Feed, water, and monitor health of cattle, goats, horses, and elk.
- Fill and maintain wildlife feeders year-round.
- Pick up feed and ranch supplies from local vendors.
- Inspect and maintain fences, gates, and water systems.
- Operate ranch equipment, including tractors, ATVs, trucks, trailers, and skid-steer (Bobcat).
Seasonal & As-Needed Tasks
- Assist with veterinary care, breeding, and pasture rotation for all livestock species.
- Clear brush, trees, and overgrowth using Bobcat and other equipment.
- Maintain ranch roads.
- Basic service and repair of ranch machinery and vehicles.
- Monitor and support habitat improvement efforts for wildlife.
Requirements
- Experience with livestock handling and care (multiple species a plus).
- Ability to operate and maintain ranch equipment safely.
- Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work long hours in varying conditions.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to tow trailers preferred.
Salary: Pay Range: $15–$20 /hour ($32K–$42K/year) depending on experience
