Job Title: Ranch Manager

Location: Lampasas, Texas

Industry: Private Estate Management / Wildlife Conservation / Hospitality

Reports To: Property Owner

Job Purpose:

The Ranch Manager will oversee all operations of the 2,500-acre property, with a focus on wildlife development, property management, and guest services. The role entails hands-on work and managerial responsibilities, and requires an individual (or spousal team) who can manage the various aspects of running the property, including maintenance, development, and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the care and management of the property, including the upkeep of a newly built large entertainment property with multiple rooms and buildings
  2. Manage and execute wildlife development initiatives, focusing on creating and maintaining an environment conducive to the thriving of local wildlife
  3. Oversee hunting property management, including maintenance of deer and duck blinds, feeders, etc.
  4. Work with guests, assisting in activities and ensuring their stay is satisfactory
  5. Lead future property development projects, such as the creation of lakes and ponds
  6. Ensure the maintenance and repair of ranch facilities, infrastructure, and equipment
  7. Operate and maintain ranch vehicles, such as bulldozers and tractors, as well as recreational vehicles (ATVs, Rangers, RZRs)
  8. Plant and manage wildlife agriculture, and potentially manage a small cattle operation for controlling overgrowth
  9. Track the operational budget for the ranch, creating RFPs, selecting and managing third-party vendors when required

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  1. A minimum of 5-10 years of hands-on experience in ranch management, particularly in a wildlife conservation or private estate setting
  2. A degree in Ranch Management or a related field is a huge plus
  3. Knowledge of wildlife development and agricultural practices
  4. Proficiency in operating heavy machinery and performing maintenance tasks
  5. Strong organizational and financial management skills, with the ability to work independently, foresee needs, and manage an operational budget
  6. Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with guests and managing staff
  7. Experience in hospitality is a plus
  8. Strong references required

Living Arrangements:

The ranch manager is expected to live on-site in a dedicated, spacious 4,000 square foot home. Property is within 15 minutes of Lampasas schools.

Compensation:

Compensation will be at or above market rate, will vary with experience, and includes the use of the on-site home.
