We’re looking for a dedicated, hands-on Cowboy/Ranch Hand to join our small but passionate operation in the Black Forest (Germany). Our work revolves around semi-wild cattle, regenerative grazing, and the principles of Low Stress Stockmanship. If you love working outdoors, value animal welfare, and enjoy real ranch work in a stunning mountain environment, this might be your place.

About Us

We manage cattle across remote pastures within and around the Black Forest National Park. Our philosophy aligns with Slow Food, nature conservation, and respectful land stewardship. The work is authentic, physical, and meaningful — with a strong focus on calm, safe animal handling.

What You’ll Do

  • Daily/weekly handling of semi-wild cattle using Low Stress Stockmanship
  • Fencing, checking remote pastures, maintaining water points
  • Seasonal cattle drives & pasture rotations
  • Support with hay, feeding, herd checks, and general ranch tasks
  • Occasional help with orchard & landscape conservation projects
  • Work independently and responsibly in forest and mountain terrain

What You Need

  • Experience with cattle or ranch work (Low Stress Stockmanship is a big plus)
  • Physical fitness and a calm, confident presence around animals
  • Willingness to work outdoors year-round
  • Driver’s license B required; BE / Trailer license strongly preferred
  • Ideally experience with tractors, UTVs, or manual tools
  • A respectful, nature-minded attitude

What We Offer

  • Work in one of Europe’s most beautiful landscapes
  • A role that values animal welfare, slow food principles, and sustainability
  • Flexible working hours
  • Fair pay
  • A ranch culture built on trust, respect, and calm cattle handling
  • Opportunity to learn and refine Low Stress Stockmanship techniques
  • A meaningful job where your work directly shapes the land and the herd

If you’re looking for real ranch work with purpose — not a tourist job — and want to experience cowboy life in the heart of the Black Forest, we’d love to hear from you.
