We are a sixth-generation family owned and operated cattle and sheep ranch who are seeking a dependable and experienced hay foreman/manager.  This is a hands-on, year-round position focused on hay production, equipment maintenance and miscellaneous ranch operations.  We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, values integrity, and understands the demands of hay agriculture.

  • Manage and supervise daily hay harvesting activities including the operation of heavy equipment such as mowers, baler’s, swathers, various farming implements, pivots, wheel lines and irrigation pumps.
  • Coordinate with senior manager to align hay operations with overall production goals and deadlines.
  • Responsible and accountable for quality compliance, environmental stewardship, inventory control, labor control, overhead and operational budget.
  • Supervising and directing a team of workers to complete hay harvesting and related tasks.
  • Manage equipment maintenance schedules, perform routine inspections with tools, and troubleshoot machinery issues promptly.
  • Oversee quality control measures to guarantee that hay meets specific standards for moisture content, bale density and storage conditions.
  • Manage relationships with neighbors, community leaders and regulatory agencies.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working on their own.
  • Ability to lift 75+ pounds, along with bending and stooping repeatedly.
  • Ability to work in the open air at all temperatures and conditions.
  • Responsible for basic building and housing maintenance, along with up-keep of property.
  • Work extended hours, as necessary, during hay operation season.
  • Ability to work at the headquarters location during off-season periods, as necessary.
  • Required to feed livestock at different times of the year.
  • Wage:  DOE.
