The Powderhorn Ranch / Diamond Land & Livestock is seeking a head wrangler for our 2026 guest season. We differ from a traditional dude ranch in several ways:

We personally book our ranch guests and they stay with us for a minimum of 3 days (we do not offer open booking or walk-ons)
Our guest groups are cohesive, meaning we typically host only one family or event group at a time. Therefore, rides are personally coordinated to match the group’s schedule and we do not offer “conveyor belt” rides going out multiple times per day
Our guest groups typically range from 3-15 people
We have no groomed trails; guests ride with us in “real Wyoming!”
Not every day or week of the season is booked

Our guest season is open from June to October. Optimal start date for the position would be in April or May of 2026 with end dates being somewhat flexible but not before mid-August, 2026. This is a salaried, full-time position. Duties would include care and tuneup of guest horses, coordinating horse activities with guests, appropriately matching horses/guest riders/tack/trail routes, conducting all guest horse activities, overseeing 1-2 part-time assistant wranglers, and helping with ranch work during off weeks. Housing is provided. Prior experience is required to apply! Applicants must be mature, people-centric individuals with genuine care and kindness for our guests. Additionally, applicants MUST be calm, confident horsepeople with a practiced ability to read people and horses, able to successfully create a positive horseback experience for all levels of riders.
