Trauernicht Simmentals is in search of an experienced herd manager for their seedstock ranch near Wymore, Nebraska. This is a stable, long-term opportunity in a team environment. Housing and horse/cattle care are available. Applicants should be dependable, have good decision-making skills, be a self-starter, a good leader for the team, and be willing to assist in all areas of the operation.
This is a purebred operation, so experience is preferred in working with purebred cow/calf, developing bulls and heifers, calving, record keeping, and preparing for 2 production sales per year at our on-the-farm sale facility. Any experience in AI and heat checking would be helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.
Additional duties would include assisting with spring and fall calving, animal health, general yard maintenance, and supervising 3-5 employees/interns.
Ideally, we would like to see someone with a minimum of 3-5+ years of working experience to bring some leadership, knowledge, and upper skill set with them to this position.
