Seeking Herdsman / Couple for registered cattle ranch in Texas Panhandle. This is a long term position.
Applicant needs a min 10 years’ experience with cow/ calf operation, preferable some registered herd experience. Participate in daily operations including calving, range management, fence & equipment repairs & maintenance, cattle processing, and all things related to livestock water.
Working knowledge of cattle nutrition, follow herd health program, and documentation of production records. Very experienced horseman and low-stress cattle handling is a must. Ability to communicate directly to owners and be a team player with other members of staff. Maintain cleanliness, integrity appearance and organization of barns, vehicles, and housing, at all times.
Progressive thinker is desired, enjoys all aspects of cattle operation. The ability to weld, operate pivots is a plus. Performance Expectations: improve cows exposed to calves weaned ratio. Identify key ways to grow operation.
Base wage is negotiable, 3 bedroom 2 bath house & utilities, insurance allowance, 401K
Ranch Location: 4 miles all-weather road to pavement. Total of 30 minutes to Wal-Mart.
