This role is a hands-on position responsible for supporting all aspects of landscape and garden maintenance. The Horticulturist will contribute to the ongoing care, improvement, and presentation of the grounds, ensuring all gardens and outdoor spaces are maintained to the highest aesthetic standards.

Position Responsibilities:  

  • Partner with the Horticulture team to meet members’ objectives and to provide property support
  • Perform landscape/garden maintenance, seasonal color coordination/maintenance, and installation
  • Participate in the daily activities of the gardening support team to achieve the highest level of service, detail, and performance standards, including plant and materials procurement and equipment management.
  • Perform equipment maintenance, landscape management, and irrigation tasks etc. with minimal guidance and oversight
  • Assist Horticulture team members with contractor supervision
  • Monitor and replenish fuel levels for both maintenance operations and family vehicles
  • Complete miscellaneous projects and errands as required
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule.  Some unscheduled hours will be required

Essential skills and experience:  

  • Equivalent work experience of 2+ years in landscaping, gardening, or nursery experience preferred, or any combination of education, licensing, specialized training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills; positive attitude
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery, e.g., bobcat, loaders, etc.
  • Ability to safely handle and apply pesticides
  • Able to read difficult instructions and maintain written records
  • Knowledge of all job-related Federal/State rules/regulations / Adhere to all safety requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of general office procedures, as well as intermediate knowledge smart phone and computer skills
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to organize and coordinate multiple projects with available resources
  • Keen attention to detail, honesty, adaptability, dependability, and a willingness to do hands-on work
  • Ability to maintain a high level of strict confidentiality and professionalism
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
