The Hospitality Department helps everyone cherish their time here because we create the tidy, peaceful and beautiful backdrops for all the memories made in the lodge, dining, and cabin areas. This position is being offered from May through September. This position is being offered with housing (a dorm room with roommate and common area) and meals.
What Your Day Will Look Like:
You Will Be Caring for Facilities:
- Creating a safe, spotless, and welcoming environment in all guest cabins and facilities
- Following checklists to complete lodge and cabin cleans
- Cleaning, dusting, sweeping and mopping thoroughly and quickly
- Creating a pristine environment in lodge, its common areas, and cabins
- Admiring the look of a clean well put together room
- Taking pride in every detail accounted for
- Making beds, switching out sheets, making baskets of fresh linens
- Carrying baskets of linens up stairs and to guest cabins
- Taking out trash and restocking supplies in cabins and lodge
You Will Be Doing Laundry:
- Tending to guest and lodge laundry
- Sorting, spot treating, washing, drying, and folding all ranch linens
- Ironing clothes as needed (we can train!!)
- Carrying laundry bags to and from guest cabins
- Looking over linens for stains
- Organizing storage areas for the linens
- Building fresh linen baskets for our epic “Flip Day”
You Will Be Serving Our Guests and Staff:
- Calmly provide excellent service to our dining guests and staff during breakfast, lunch and dinner in a timely and cheerful way
- Moving our delicious food in large serving platters safely from the kitchen to the dining area buffet
- Plating food on the buffet line
- Taking drink orders and fulfill them
- Keeping a watchful eye on buffet status and reporting needs to kitchen
- Relaying dietary information including allergies to guests and kitchen
- Creating signage for food displays
- Accurately label foods which contain items guests are allergic to
- Working with guests and children who have allergy concerns
- Clearing dirty plates, glasses, silverware, napkins in a timely and professional manner
- Being available and attentive to guest special requests
You Will Be Caring for Guests:
- Talking with guests and get to know them so you can anticipate their needs
- Learning guest names
- Greeting guests by name in passing
- Creating a safe and quiet environment for them to relax in
- Answering questions
- Creating memorable moments for the guests
- Encouraging them as they learn
- Showing them the best time of their life
- Having a heart for hospitality
You Will Have Other Ranch Duties:
- May need to help in hosting evening entertainment for guests such as roping, karaoke, line dancing, etc.
- Helping in other departments (mostly kitchen) as everyone helps with dishes here!
- Representing the ranch well at all times and demonstrating our core values to others
- Employee Housing Chores done in your free time
- Lead Lining Children on Horses
- Help children ages 3-6 get on and off their horses
- Hold lead rope and walk next to the child on horseback ride
- Help child keep their feet in stirrups
- Keep child engaged on horse
Requirements:
- You must enjoy cleaning and following checklists
- Physically fit and capable of all Housekeeping/Server duties
- Be ok with having to drive 10 minutes to get cell phone reception or using a land phone (Gasp!) to make a phone call while on the ranch (training provided).
- Be able to lift 50 pounds and work 45-55 hours/week.
- Work with minimal supervision and take directions from ranch leaders
- Familiar with or willing to be trained on sharing satellite internet with your roommates!!
- Able to demonstrate good communication skills and customer relations
- Be willing to help in other departments as needed
- Must wear appropriate uniforms and maintain a neat/clean appearance
- Be able to laugh and have fun!
- Must be a citizen of The United States of America or possess a current and appropriate working visa.
- Hold a valid drivers license
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Be a person who wants to better themselves and can uphold our Core Values
