Rancho Los Baños has immediate openings for host-hiking guide-wrangler position. The successful candidates should be comfortable performing all three titles. Therefore, we seek well rounded, multitasking individuals with both the social and physical skills required for the job.

We are looking for hosts or hostesses that will also be our hiking guide and riding assistant [to our cowboys] to join us from late September/early October through November and December and even through our spring season [if possible], ending 30 April. You can also start in January, for stay through end of April. You would be staying with us during the most beautiful and pleasant time of year [wonderful Fall, mild winter and spring colors, weather and temperatures].

This is a volunteer position, with you keeping any and all personal tips guests wish to provide. Bonus given if you complete our minimum three-four month stay. Room and board is included. Interaction with real, genuine cowboys and cattle ranch operation work and exposure guaranteed. Bonus trips to Sea of Cortez and Arizona very possible. Waking up every day inside what is a National Park feels incredible!

Located in one of the most beautiful regions of the Sonoran desert, we offer what many feel is the best backcountry riding, and some of the best box canyon hiking, in the world. We have been featured in Men’s Journal magazine, The Guardian and other publications, and have recently been selected as one of the six best new guest ranches for the 21st century by Men’s Journal online. We have been selected as the best backcountry riding ranch in the world by a leading ranch website, and have recently been chosen as one of the top ten horseback riding ranches in the world by Country Living magazine. We have also won Trip Advisor’s Certificate of Excellence nine years in a row.

To apply visit our website and send your CV/resume [with photo] to our contact email. If you are looking for adventure, a working vacation, and/or a wilderness escape this is your moment. We are an adventure guest ranch, located on 30,000 acres of pristine wilderness, offering exciting activities and National-Park quality scenery, landscapes and unique and exotic flora and fauna. We are 60 miles south of Douglas, Arizona, in Sonora, Mexico.

We are an adventure guest ranch. We are not a dude ranch and we do not expect you to be anyone other than yourself. You should have the mental toughness and physical strength to thrive at our remote, rugged and vast wilderness ranch, in an off-grid location.

You should be physically fit, devoid of drama and negative energy, an outdoor’s person that is low maintenance, with the ability to engage guests from all walks of life, of different personalities and from all corners of the world. You should be a social person, with excellent social and interaction skills. You must work well with people, and you must be able to take direction well.

Great and vibrant energy is a must.

Other duties include but are not limited to small amounts of ranch hand work, cleaning and prepping rooms, driving and basic kitchen duties. The Rancho is looking for vibrant, energetic, engaging, in shape and athletic individuals in search of a unique, world-class adventure. As an adventure guest ranch, our non-riding adventures are given the same level of attention as our riding program.

Join our team from around the world and have a great adventure. All of our guests are English speakers, visiting us from the US, Canada, Europe, Australia and Asia.

Food, lodging, tons of riding and hiking, weekly volunteer tips, guest networking included.
