Hawkeye Hunting Club
Looking for full time hunting guides/maintenance employees. Experience preferred in upland bird hunting with high end clientele and providing a unique, personalized experience. Additional experience developing new habitat, training dogs and instructing shotgun shooters is a plus. Pay is hourly rate plus tips. Job will require longer hours including weekends during the hunting season (October – March)
Responsibilities Include:
- Guide upland bird hunts (October – March)
- Guide deer hunts (November – January)
- Guide shooting sports activities (year round)
- Properly clean company and guest guns after each shooting activity
- Assist in dog training and conditioning, when needed
- Help feed and maintain dogs and cleaning kennels, when needed
- Keep hunt vehicles clean and maintained to standards
- Help clear, mow and maintain upland hunt courses
- Keep property clean of trash
- Cut dead trees/limbs; cleaning up fallen limbs
- Keep fire pit log racks full
- Repair simple plumbing and electrical issues as they arise
- Maintain outside appearance of lodges, including blowing off and/or washing decks, blowing off roofs, and cleaning gutters
Skills/Requirements:
- Friendly, welcoming and professional appearance and demeanor with strong verbal communication skills
- Must be punctual and dependable
- A desire and ability to spend a significant time outdoors
- A passion for the outdoors – hunting, shooting, fishing
- A passion for providing high quality guest service
- Attention to detail a must
- Ability to observe and solve problems with a minimum of supervision
- Willingness to be trained in Hawkeye method of dog handling, upland guiding
- Must be available to work some weekends and holidays
- Must be available to assist guests after-hours, if needed
- Must be able to meet physical demands of the job
Salary: BOE
