We are looking to hire a Hunting Operations manager to join our company Cedar Cove Ranch (www.CedarCoveRanch.com). In this role, your duties will include coordinating daily hunting operations, and hospitality, working with other staff members and General Manager, and adhering to a high level of customer service.

If you do not have previous experience working at a ranch, or hunting lodge in Operations, you may not be the right fit for this position. To ensure success in this role, you should have an exceptional understanding of the hospitality and Hunting industry and display an aptitude for excellence in customer service. Ultimately, a top-notch candidate should have excellent managerial skills, and be focused on executing and providing high class service.

Hunting Operations Management – Understand hunting grounds and operations requirements and implement plan to execute with staff accordingly.

  • Hunting Operations calendar planning, mgmt. and execution
  • Hunting P&L management and optimization
  • Wildlife Management & Inventory
  • Working with Wildlife Biologists / TPWD / similar and following all necessary state regulations.
  • Taxidermy/Meat Processor Coordination
  • Animal Purchase Plan – Work with breeders and plan animal purchase / transport
  • Grounds management, hunting blinds/stands management, game camera upkeep.
  • Support hunting related projects – planning and implementation
  • Food Crop / Feed Management
  • Coordinate guides and staff as necessary
  • Planning, organizing, and managing the daily operations to ensure efficiency.
  • Coordinate with guests – Plan guest itineraries and lead coordination of activities, working with GM. Primarily you will be leading hunting/company guest services coordination, however, occasional support with other retreats will be required
  • Guide Hunts and Coordinate Hunting Execution with the Team/Clients
  • Work under guidance of general manager and lead hospitality services
  • Lead Firearms and related equipment Management
  • Blinds, Feeders, Fencing and other hunting related structures maintenance
  • Shooting Range/ Zero Range/ Clay Shooting Management
  • Fishing Equipment, Boats and Gear Management
  • Coordinating and leading activities such as shooting sports, water activities, UTV rides, fishing and more!
  • Attending to any complaints by guests in a professional and timely manner.
  • Training guides / ranch hand staff
  • Developing necessary SOPs and lead implementation of such
  • Support development of the future goals/strategy for hunting/ sportsmen
  • Sales and Bookings – Upsell, proactive sales, cross marketing (Sportsmen)
  • Sportsmen Marketing – support attending conferences, events, business relationship, vendor/partner relationship, and more!
  • Ability to operate large tractor and implements including box blade, batwing mower, disc harrow, tiller/cedar/cultipacker, etc.
  • Support equipment maintenance planning
  • Maintaining a high standard of customer service according to company operating procedures and leveraging company core values

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, or wildlife management or relevant field is preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience working in the hospitality / Hunting Operations industry
  • Exceptional knowledge of standard hospitality practices and procedures
  • Fishing and other shooting sports experience
  • Hunting operations and guiding experience required
  • Ability to be proactive, lead, motivate, and communicate with staff members.
  • The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid knowledge of customer service and the ability to resolve conflict in a calm and professional manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Salary: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
