Pollo Real has been a serious pastured poultry operation in Socorro, New Mexico for over 20 years. Tom Delehanty, the owner, is a 6th generation farmer from Wisconsin that has been developing these pastured poultry models for over 40 years. Pollo Real is located along the Rio Grande at 4,500 feet with mountains surrounding the valley. At Pollo Real we breed, incubate, hatch, brood, field operation (portable shelters), process, package, market and distribute all products and produce on the farm.
The type of folks we are looking for need to have some farm or handyman skills, or are at minimum willing to learn. We look forward to people who want to learn about the entire farming process from A-Z. Since poultry is our #1 crop, we would prefer people who want to work with animals for food production.
There are on-farm housing options available with access to all food produced on the farm. All persons will also receive a weekly stipend based on the ability and time spent on the farm. We are searching and open to folks looking for a serious opportunity to stay year round and work for profit sharing/buy-in or ownership of Pollo Real.
Pollo Real is located along the Rio Grande, we are surrounded by beautiful mountains, wildlife (Bosque del Apache), hiking and biking trails, as we are in the City limits therefore anything you need is a walk or a bike ride from the farm. Also Socorro hosts a few good breweries, a beautiful college campus, 18 hole golf course, parks, and plenty of local restaurants.
If you are interested in learning how the healthiest production model for poultry in the U.S. works along with the food produced by this powerful soil production model we would love to hear from you, so send us a message for any more details! Tom- (505) 550-3123
