Location: Uganik Bay, Kodiak AK.
Seasonal Job – July through September
Remote Location: Room and board, as well as travel expenses are covered by the lodge upon agreement of arrival and departure.
Salary: DOE + very good tips.
About Us
Founded in 1999, Quartz Creek Lodge is a family owned and operated sports fishing lodge on the remote side of Kodiak Island ran by David and Pam Pingree, their son Aaron one of the captains, and their daughter Faith, who helps run the kitchen.
We offer 4-5 day trips to clients, we focus mostly on saltwater fishing, river fishing and photography tours.
Job Details
Responsibilities
- Helping prepare lunches and coffee in the mornings for the clients to take out in the boat, and clean up after breakfast
- Helping making cookies and deserts daily
- Helping make side dishes and salads in the evenings
- Sharing equally, dish washing and clean up with other kitchen crew
- Helping keep lodge, and guest cabins/showerhouse clean and tidy
- Greeting bush planes as they bring our clients to us, helping with unloading and loading planes
Qualifications:
- Experience with cooking preferred, but we will train you everything you’ll need to know.
- Upbeat attitude
- Can appreciate the amount of work it takes to keep a family business running smoothly.
- Able to work long days (usually pretty slow paced until evenings, there are always several hours off during the daytime!)
- Able to work well with other people and take instruction and feedback gracefully
- Willing to be a good team member, not afraid to jump in and help even when not asked.
