A beautiful, active ranch in Thousand Oaks is seeking a dedicated, hands-on Live-In Housekeeper/ Ranch Assistant to support the day-to-day upkeep of the property. This is a unique opportunity for someone who genuinely loves animals, enjoys being outdoors, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, well-run environment.
This is a fully live-in role. The right candidate will be comfortable being on-site at all times, while coordinating coverage with an additional team member when stepping away.
Key Responsibilities
Property & Cabin Care
- Maintain cleanliness and organization across multiple cabins on the property
- Deep cleaning of cabins, with attention to detail and consistency
- Prepare cabins for holidays and occasional guest stays
- Ensure all spaces are tidy, welcoming, and well-maintained at all times
Animal Care (Primary Focus)
- Daily care of multiple dogs, both indoor and outdoor
- Feeding, walking, and general wellbeing of animals
- Must be highly attentive, responsible, and genuinely enjoy working with animals
Ranch Support
- Light cleaning and upkeep of barn areas
- Assist with general property needs as they arise
- Receive and coordinate deliveries and vendors on-site
- Event Support (Occasional)
- Assist with light preparation for small-scale events or nonprofit fundraisers held on the property (infrequent)
The Right Candidate
- True animal lover-this is essential
- Comfortable living on-site full-time in a rural ranch environment
- Self-directed, dependable, and low-ego with a “no task too big or small” mindset
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Communicative and able to coordinate seamlessly with other staff
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions, including warmer summer months
