We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and hands-on landscaper (or couple) to live on-site and care for our beautiful 20-acre property in the Puget Sound. The primary responsibility is landscaping—planting and maintaining the grounds. Over time, the role may expand into exciting projects such as overseeing greenhouse construction and growing food.
Much of the acreage is dedicated to horses and other farm animals, but animal care is not part of this role. We already have a wonderful live-in chef and animal caretaker couple on staff—a hardworking, kind pair in their 50s who help keep daily life on the property running smoothly. You would be joining a warm, welcoming environment, where most of the time it’s just my husband and me in the main home.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in outdoor work, loves the land, and values the stability of a live-on arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Year-round landscaping care: mowing, trimming, clearing, planting, pruning, irrigation, and general upkeep of 20 acres
- Maintaining the property’s natural beauty and curb appeal
- Seasonal care and proactive problem-solving (storm cleanup, property checks, etc.)
- Opportunity to expand into greenhouse gardening and food-growing projects
About the Role:
- Primarily a landscaping position with the potential to grow into broader homestead projects
- On-site housing provided as part of the compensation package
- Compensation to be discussed during the interview and based on experience (live-on housing helps offset costs)
- You’ll be living on the property alongside our trusted chef and animal care team, who are long-term staff members and part of the household community
- We reside on the property six months of the year and rely on our team to help keep things running smoothly while we are away
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven landscaping experience and familiarity with tools, equipment, and best practices
- Comfort being around horses and farm animals (though no animal care is required)
- Reliability and independence—someone who can manage and care for the land with pride
- A proactive self-starter with a strong work ethic who enjoys working outdoors
- Individuals or couples are welcome to apply
How to Apply:
Please send us your resume along with a short note on why you would be a great fit to live on-site and care for our property. Be sure to include any relevant landscaping, gardening, or building experience.
