Livestock Program Coordinator
Located in beautiful North San Diego County in sunny Southern California, Rawhide Ranch is a one of a kind ranch camp for kids. It is a high energy, completely unique, year-round youth camp program for kids ages 7-15. We have 50 horses and nearly 100 livestock animals that nearly 150 kids ride and work with everyday. Our cabins are covered wagons, a cavalry fort, tee pees and an old schoolhouse. The camp itself is an old west town.
We need to hire a full-time, year-round, Animal Science program coordinator to:
• Teach beginning-advanced animal science to campers (up to 150 per week in the summer)
• Supervise seasonal staff
• Oversee all livestock operations, including the livestock facility and all farm or ranch animals excluding horses.
• Provide first aid and basic veterinary care to all ranch stock farm animals as needed
The Rawhide Ranch Livestock Program Coordinator will:
• Have a heart to reach, teach and serve children
• Have an Animal Science or related degree or equivalent experience
• Love the outdoors and animals and having fun!
• Possess a positive and exemplary attitude
• Have experience working with kids
• Be able to work long hours and still have fun.
• Have the proven ability to work in a team environment
• Able to take directions well and learn quickly
• Thrive in a team environment
