We are looking to hire one person, part-time, this winter on a privately owned ranch in Eagle, Colorado; starting ASAP.
We are specifically hiring for Friday – Monday, 7am till roughly 4pm.
This opportunity will be part-time hours (32 hours/ week) through the winter but could turn into a full-time position (40 hours/ week) for the right candidate in Spring of 2026.
Job consists of:
- Feeding, caring for, exercising and riding horses
- Guiding trail rides and facilitating pony rides and lessons for owners and their guests- less often in winter months but frequently spring- fall
- Keeping the barn and property clean and maintained
- Some snow removal and help with other ranch-related tasks and events
Requirements:
- Extensive experience RIDING and caring for horses (prior wrangling or experience working with horses strongly preferred)
- Excellent customer service and prior job experience in a customer-service related field
- Strong work ethic and self-motivated/ self-starter
- Able to work a physically demanding job in all weather conditions, mostly outside, with a lot of time on your feet or in the saddle
- Able to mount/ dismount from the ground easily
- Able to lift up to 60lbs regularly
- Safety-first minded (first aid/ CPR certification preferred)
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- “Can do” + “Go with the flow” attitude
- Enthusiasm for your work
- Openness to constructive feedback
- Willing to learn new skills
- Willing to work weekends and help out with occasional events as needed
- Driver’s license and clean driving record (experience driving trailers preferred)
More details:
- Hourly pay in the low to mid 20’s/ hour range depending on experience and skillset
- We cannot accommodate horses for seasonal staff
- Must be local to or willing to relocate to Eagle, CO – we may have leads on housing
- We do require a background check and professional references
- We require recent video of you riding if you do not live close enough to interview in person
- Potential for this role to turn into year-round employment for an exceptional candidate
Additional considerations/potential to increase pay or hours:
- If you have experience operating small equipment, tractors, snowmobiles or snowplowing
- If you have experience training and starting horses or teaching lessons
- If you have event planning and executing experience
