7K Red Angus is seeking help for a part-time ranch hand position in Marietta, Oklahoma, to work and assist on a seed stock Red Angus ranch. We do not use horseback but ATVs to work and gather cattle.
Responsibilities include:
- General care of beef cattle (daily feeding/haying, doctoring cattle, cleaning pens, etc.)
- Working cattle (gathering, sorting, vaccinating, calving)
- Ranch general maintenance and upkeep
- Mowing and weed-eating
- Fence Repair
- Operating farm machinery and equipment
- Working in all weather conditions.
- Lifting a minimum of 70 lbs. (e.g., bale of hay) during daily tasks
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience preferred:
- Cattle handling (gathering, sorting, loading, administering medication and vaccines).
- Tagging calves at birth without help.
- Operating tractors with front-end loaders, zero-turn mowers, and engine-driven tools (weed eaters, chainsaws, etc.).
Requirements:
- Current valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends and/or evenings as needed.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal directions.
- Drug-Free
Housing and utilities are provided, and pay is based on experience.
