Small ranch in AZ mountains seeking an experienced horse/ranch caretaker. Job involves heavy lifting, feeding twice daily, manure management (no endless stall cleaning, the horses mainly live outside), tractor work, cleaning/filling water tanks, etc.
Successful applicant must be able to recognize and treat common horse health ailments and deal with emergencies. Owner onsite but has to work to pay someone so we seek someone who can bring their experience, learn how things are done here, then work independently. Hope to find someone who is also knowledgeable in gentling wild equines and or home remodeling (needing kitchen remodeled and flooring done) – we can of course find someone else told do these things, they are offered for additional compensation to an otherwise part time job.
No smoking, drug use or heavy alcohol consumption. Couple or single fine. Prefer someone to bring their own RV but can offer housing to someone without indoor pets. Preferred start date is Sept 1.
Salary: $2K+/month, DOE, more depending upon what you can do
