Family owned private feedlot operation in South Central Montana has an immediate full time position open for an experienced pen rider.
Applicants should have: A good working knowledge of quiet cattle handling practices and horsemanship skills, roping experience preferred. Must be able to identify, handle and treat sick and injured cattle, assist in processing, shipping and receiving cattle. Applicants must be willing to work and ride in all weather conditions. Additional duties include pen and lot maintenance and minimal computer work. Because this is a diversified operation, applicants can expect to also assist in some aspects of the farm, primarily during corn harvest, however this is primarily a feedlot job. A CDL is not required, but experience in driving trucks and tractors a plus. Being able to work independently and as part of a team is a must. We are looking for a motivated individual who is willing to work until the job is complete, this is not a 8-5 job.
The feedlot is located in a Class B school district with a history of quality academics and sports teams, providing a good family atmosphere, 20 minutes east of Billings, MT.
Years of Experience preferred: 2+
Wage package includes: Health insurance compensation will be prorated for employee. One week paid vacation after first year. Beef is provided. Housing is available. Year wage will be $30,000.00 base, may vary D.O.E.
