In search of assistant ranch manager position starting summer 2022. I am looking for a job at a ranch that priorities regenerative and holistic management practices and is willing to teach me their way of doing things. I have a bachelors in wildlife and conservation biology from UC Davis and a masters in range science and management from NMSU. My research at NMSU was focused on precision livestock management and understanding how hotspots affect forage quality and soil characteristics. I am passionate about land stewardship and promoting policy change as it relates to preservation of sustainable land management techniques for future generations.

I have experience packing, general horseback ranch work (sorting, branding etc), grant writing and marketing for small beef producers, colt starting, and low stress live stock handling. I am looking for a position in which I can work under the guidance of an experienced ranch manager. I have a lot to learn. I'm not afraid of long days. I would prefer a more permanent position, but I'm not opposed to seasonal work if it sounds like a good fit. I am currently in New Mexico and will travel anywhere for the right position.

Ideally I'd like an immersive position with ranch housing for my boyfriend and I. We have a 3 yr old catahoula/border mix and a string of three good horses.

My boyfriend will also be looking for a position. He can cowboy, mechanic and has a CDL. He grew up ranching in Wyoming, Missouri and Nebraska. He would be happy to do a combination of heavy equipment, farming/hauling, mechanicing and cowboying if the opportunity presents itself, but can always haul privately if there is not full time work for him at the ranch.
