My husband and I are looking for employment to utilize our skills in equine management, veterinary care, and ranch maintenance.
My husband has been currently employed with Ballena Vista Farm, a breeding and racing facility for Thoroughbreds, located in Ramona where he has been the Breeding Manager and Assistant Farm Manager for the past 6 years. Previously, he was employed by Golden Eagle Farm for 32 years as the Farm Manager. I was employed by Golden Eagle Farm for almost 14 years as the veterinarian technician and head of Equine Operations. Manuel and I were both there until the last day of business, October 2014. For the past 6 years, I have been home educating our children, and own and instruct for Ramona Revolution, a free group fitness program for our Ramona community.
Our many years of experience have given us a great amount of knowledge regarding the everyday maintenance of a horse farm. We are both highly skilled in handling horses of all ages, from foaling to preparing them for the race track, auction, or private sales. Manuel’s longevity at Golden Eagle Farm also gave him the opportunity to gain knowledge of maintaining a 570-acre farm, including installing fence lines, running irrigation, maintaining barns, tractor work, and much more. My equine knowledge extends into the office where I am proficient in MS Office, Google Docs and Sheets, and farm management software. I have excellent client communication and educational skills, extensive medical and inventory record-keeping, appointment/vendor scheduling, and accounts payable/accounts receivable experience. I am also an accomplished rider and currently give riding lessons for gymkhana, barrels, and poles. We are both quick learners, work well as a team, always keeping safety in mind, and we’re willing to get our hands dirty.
