Hello my name is Jeff C.
I have worked on farms from the time I was a teenager in Iowa – I spent a lot of time riding calls with my veterinarian dad as a kid and worked for farmers in the area – and through my adult life after leaving the Navy.
My agriculture experience is primarily with cattle and ranges from managing a newer beef cattle operation in TN, independently managing a Black Angus farm in Virginia and leading a team on a large feedlot in Iowa. Doctoring, calving, feed management (both feedlot and rotational grazing), hay-making, farm trucking and basic farm and equipment maintenance are among my skills. I do not consider myself a mechanic. I have 35 years of experience and am comfortable working alone or as part of a team. On the VA Angus farm I was the sole hand and manager for the 250+ herd. On Iowa feedlot, I managed the team of hands to raise, feed and market the herd.
For a few years, I took a break from farming and drove semis. I have a Class A CDL and 3 years’ experience as an OTR company driver. I am interested in continuing my career in cattle / farm work for the right opportunity. I am single, self-sufficient and an excellent cook!
My qualifications include a focus on organization, managing time well and hard work. You won’t find anyone who works harder or problem solves better, given the benefit of my experience
I am currently in Nebraska, will relocate and can start soon.
