Hello, we are currently looking for an operation that will allow us to work together on a place. We currently live and work in Eastern MT on a large cow/calf outfit on over 60 sections and love the operation however we desire to be closer to family in Bend OR as my grand parents health is fleeting. We are comfortable being a 6-10hrs away but really are more focused on getting closer to them as now we are a 20 hr drive. We are also hoping to land in a place that will allow us to grow in our understanding of the industrys ins and outs from a business perspective and management view as we desire one day to have something of our own.
I (Jay) am a carpenter and tile setter by trade that can weld, do electrical, mechanics and plumb, mend and build fence. I also have a farming background. Cows are my passion and I love cow/calf operations as seeing the baby calves grow and knowing we delivered those on the cold days of winter and spring, makes me happy. I believe in giving your work 100% commitment and I would love an opportunity to work for an operation that desires an employee who is respectful, hard working, and desires to learn more. My wife Kay is currently driving school bus but misses being involved on a day to day basis with the ranch as she has at past locations.
She is a fully capable hand, who is skilled in mechanics, fencing, office management, cooking, gardening, farming, God Bless her a great night calver and is just a great all around hand. We love to work cattle with horses and our good cow dogs yet understand there is a time and place for 4 wheelers. More than anything, we believe in low stress and quiet handling of everything.
