I am a self-starter and a hardworking Christian family man seeking a full-time, permanent position as a ranch manager. I have worked in the ranching industry for more than 30 years and have made it my life. I enjoy raising my family on a ranch and would like to continue doing so in a long-term position where I can use my experience and help care for a productive, well-managed operation.
My experience includes managing daily ranch operations, supervising employees, planning seasonal work, and overseeing budgets, purchasing, and operating expenses. I am comfortable making decisions independently and working closely with owners to carry out their goals. I believe in clear communication, listening to others, and keeping owners informed about the needs and progress of the ranch. I can organize the work, coordinate employees and contractors, and step in wherever I am needed.
I have a strong background in cow-calf and seedstock operations, including calving, herd health, breeding, nutrition, heifer development, and pasture management. I am experienced working cattle horseback in mountain and high-desert country, as well as caring for and using ranch horses. My practical skills also include hay production, operating heavy equipment, hauling cattle and hay, building and repairing fences, maintaining livestock water systems, and performing routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
I value good stewardship of the land and livestock. My experience with regenerative practices and grass-fed and grass-finished beef has added to my understanding of grazing, nutrition, and selecting cattle suited to the operation. I hold a B.S. in Animal Science with a beef emphasis from Oregon State University. I like learning new ways of doing things and am willing to continue my education and training while putting proven ranching skills to work.
I am honest, trustworthy, and reliable, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail. My Christian faith guides how I treat people, keep my word, and handle the responsibilities given to me. My family and I value ranch life and being involved in our local church and community. I am looking for a family-oriented ranch where I can build a good working relationship with the owners, contribute to the operation, and make a lasting home for my family.
