British Arborist looking for a ranch to call home.
My name is Jake Parsons, I’m from England and I’m looking to learn the livestock side of ranching from the ground up as well as being a great addition to any team with my already existing skillset.
I have practical experience working outdoors with my hands, including arborist/tree work, fencing, property/vehicle maintenance, machinery and general outdoor work. I’m used to physical manual work, long hard days, working safely and efficiently, solving problems and getting the job done.
What I can bring to a ranch:

- Fencing and fence maintenance.
- General property and building maintenance.
- Confidence using tools and equipment.
- Plant/machine operator.
- Comfortable with hard, physical outdoor work.
- Used to working in all kinds of weather and conditions.
- Happy to do the less glamorous jobs.
- Reliable, practical and willing to learn.
My long term dream is to learn how to properly work a ranch and eventually become fully capable on the livestock side of things too. I don’t have years of cattle-handling experience yet (which I am fully upfront about) however it is what I want to learn.
I am willing to put in extra time and work extra hours unpaid outside of my normal duties to learn the livestock side of things that come with running a ranch. I’m not expecting to walk onto a ranch knowing everything, I am however looking for someone willing to give me a chance and teach me. In return, I’ll bring a strong work ethic and useful practical skills.
I am interested in any type of livestock and ranch operation. I am also not looking for just a quick holiday job, this is something I genuinely want to build towards as a way of life.
