Nanci T.
To whom this may concern,
I am reaching out to explore job opportunities in remote locations, ideally in the Western region, though I am open to other areas.
I am married and my husband would be with me off and on until we can arrange a more permanent work/living situation. Ultimately, I am looking for long term; a place we can call home.
With a diverse background and a passion for challenges, I thrive in environments that require resilience and adaptability. My upbringing in the mountains, where I learned to navigate life without modern conveniences, has instilled in me a strong sense of independence and resourcefulness.
I posses extensive skills in animal care, permaculture, soil regeneration, biomechanics, retreat management/hosting, and even cooking for large groups.
I have a keen observational ability, I excel in managing and nurturing both animals and plants.
I am particularly drawn to smaller, family-owned, or community focused organizations. I work effectively with minimal supervision, am self-motivated, and bring a wealth of experience and education to my roles.
As you read my list, current and ongoing projects, please note that this is only a fraction of my skills, experience and knowledge. More information can be shared in an interview later.
Areas of interest but not limited to:
- retreat host and manager
- range rider
- operations manager
- animal sanctuary
- regenerative ranching
- sustainable and organic agriculture
- draft horses
- animal rescue
- caretaking property/animals
- fire watch
- fruit tree care and management
Most recent projects:
A.) Land regeneration with goats. I was able to successfully bring 120 wild goats down off a mountain in 2 days. I planned rotational grazing, fencing, kidding times, separation of billys. I was able to assess the environmental impact the goats had on the land and give a truthful report. I started a training program with the goats; leading them out to graze and coming back at night. Furthermore, I re-trained the herd dog to a point of better efficiency. I effectively handled a trauma wound on one of the goats (see photo) and was able to manage the live stock guardians.
B.) As the ranch manager for a horse, Scottish highland cattle and goat operation, I was responsible for overseeing daily, weekly, and monthly goals for employees. I successfully led the renovation of the garden, establishing a commercial-scale vegetable and fruit production system. Additionally, I managed the care of bee hives and facilitated health and wellness retreats. I also reworked all horses from the ground up, ensuring proper training and care. My role involved operating a variety of heavy machinery, including a skid steer, excavator, tractor, and air brake dump truck. I implemented a rainwater collection system for the ranch and redesigned the ground surface water flow to prevent erosion. Furthermore, I provided training for the ranch’s Shepards, ensuring they were well-prepared to manage livestock effectively.
C.) Served as operations manager for a permaculture farm, overseeing soil regeneration, groundwater re-routing, native species planting, and fruit orchard care. Furthermore, organized, managed and hatched a flock of 100 chickens used for the soil regeneration project.
On going projects:
I am on year 4 of caring for an old growth apple orchard. I have been working on successfully regenerating the trees back into full productive health.
I am a master teacher of yoga, pilates, folk dance and physical theater. I have ongoing classes, workshops and retreats worldwide.
If you think my background aligns with your needs, please send an e-mail.
Thank you for your consideration.
I look forward to the possibility of working together.
Kind regards,
Nanci T.
