My name is Josh, and I’m a 35-year-old professional looking to make a meaningful lifestyle change. I’m seeking full-time employment as a ranch hand or in a guest services/manager role on a ranch or private property where I can contribute, grow, and fully embrace a land-based way of life.
While I don’t currently have any experience as a ranch hand directly, I’ve spent the past five years living in an area near working ranches and have developed an appreciation and love for the lifestyle and values of “cowboy culture.” Through my current job in Parks & Rec, I’ve built relationships with many local ranchers, learned from conversation, and am looking forward to the possibility of diving into the world myself.
What I do bring is a strong foundation of physical ability, people skills, and work ethic, thus I am highly motivated, easily coachable, and no stranger to hard work and long hours. I have a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Wyoming and have spent much of my early career as a personal trainer with years of hands-on physical coaching and an active lifestyle. Pulling, hauling, and lifting heavy stuff is what I live for with every confidence in my strength and plenty of muscle to spare. The last 5 years I’ve worked in Parks & Rec as a coordinator, thus I am also personable, easy to get along with, and have an adaptability in whatever community I find myself in.
More than anything, I’m looking to contribute meaningfully to a ranch or property where I can be of service, grow into the role, and hopefully become part of a long-term vision.
At 35, you could call this my “mid-life pivot,” but I prefer to think of it as finally answering the call of a life I’ve been gradually drawn to for years. If you’re looking for someone who may not have every skill yet, but has the grit, attitude, and heart to earn them—I’d love to connect.
