I am 37 years old, college educated, engaged with no children, and currently employed as a Whitetail Herd Manager. I’m seeking a Ranch Management position with responsibilities in animal husbandry. I like patterning wildlife and the duties associated with range and game management. I enjoy the challenge of fixing things, whether it’s water lines or a generator, and I find satisfaction in keeping up with the chores of ranch maintenance. I appreciate remote living and life on the ranch, and I’m ready to relocate for the right opportunity.
In my current position, I am responsible for the care of 140 whitetail pen deer. I make the daily decisions regarding feed, supplements, and medications, and I carry out the tasks of darting, handling, and working the deer for AI and vaccinations. I have worked on a ranch with 600 head of cattle, and performed all the tasks of tagging, vaccinating, working, loading, and hauling. I’ve guided hunts for elk, whitetail, mule deer, aoudad, exotics and predators. I can work on most mechanical systems, and I know welding, carpentry, concrete, basic wiring, plumbing and septic systems. I have heavy equipment experience with tractors, shredders, bulldozers, all kinds of forklifts, airplane tugs, gooseneck, livestock and bumper haul trailers. I’ve worked as a Ranch Foreman, and have experience with personnel management, contractors, vendors and record keeping. I am adept with computers, office programs, email and internet, and speak conversational-level Spanish.
My fiancé is willing to work as well. She has livestock experience with cattle and deer, and has bottle-raised fawns for the last two years. She enjoys gardening and tends to a 1000+ square foot greenhouse of orchids and exotics while the owners are away for extended periods. She is a cheerful and hard-worker with a talent for hospitality, and has operated as the Lodge Manager for a 48-bed hunting ranch.
