Newly retired after 30yrs in law enforcement and military service and looking to start my second career. Looking to be apart of something special on a ranch that is focused on the hunting, fishing, and shooting sports. I have spent my entire life on ranches and understand the ranch lifestyle. I have hunted and fished all over the world and have over twenty years of experience managing and guiding on an 1,800 acre ranch in Washington State. I have extensive experience in all aspects of big game, waterfowl, and upland game hunting. I also have extensive experience in all forms of fishing but my passion is fly fishing. I am a certified firearms instructor and truly enjoy teaching people to shoot, hunt, and fish.
I am mechanically inclined and have experience working on vehicles, ATV's, motorcycles, farm equipment, electrical, plumbing, and welding. I will not claim to be a mechanical expert by any means, but I can usually figure it out. I also have experience operating heavy equipment such as tractors, trackhoe, skid steer, and dozers, but far from an expert.
So, what am I looking for, well, I am looking for some sort of ranch management position where I would have the opportunity to work with owners and other team members to provide an unparalleled outdoor experience for it's customers, clients, family, or private users. I have an absolute passion for all aspects of the hunting, fishing, shooting and ranching industries and want to be apart of something that is centered around that lifestyle. I am a people person and absolutely love spending time guiding clients or teaching people about the sport. I also enjoy the marketing side of the business and working with stakeholders in order to improve the overall experience. I would prefer a situation to live on site and be apart of the daily operation. I am looking for something that is permanent and long term. Ultimately I want something that I can pour my heart and soul into and be a valued team member. I believe I possess the skills, attitude and passion to be a true asset to the right operation.
There is also a possibility that my wife would be interested in joining the team as well, if it's the right situation. I am willing to relocate to pretty much anywhere in the West/ Mid-West (MT, WY, CA, ID, SD, ND, TX, NM, AZ, UT, CO, NV, OR, NE, KS, OK), for the right situation.
