Seasoned Ranch Hand Seeking Long-Term Home with Progressive Cattle Operation

Position Desired: Ranch Hand/Manager/Foreman (Open to managing a few hands or taking on lead responsibilities for the right outfit)

Preferred Location: Milder climate mountain areas of Arizona, Western New Mexico, Texas Hill Country, West Texas, or possibly Southwestern Colorado.

Housing & Benefits Required: On-ranch housing/utilities, competitive compensation package, and benefits.

Ranch-raised cattleman with 20+ years of hands-on commercial and registered cow/calf experience. Seeking a full-time Ranch Hand position with a solid, long-term operation. An independent, self-directed operator trusted to manage day-to-day work without oversight, with the proven capability to manage a small crew if needed.

Livestock Skills: Low-stress stockmanship, horseback cattle work, herd health, processing, sorting, doctoring, calving, and branding/freeze branding. (Note: Can hold my own in the branding pen, but not a primary roper. I do not shoe my own horses or start/work colts).
Trades & Equipment: Custom pipe and sucker rod corral fabrication, heavy structural welding, extensive wire/boundary fencing, land maintenance, and heavy equipment operation. Active Class A CDL.
Integrity & Practicality: Confident in my skills and proud of the work I do, but straight-shooting about my limits—I won’t tell you I can do something I can’t.
Work History: Proven long-term loyalty (8 years at Beckton Stock Farm, foundation herd of the Red Angus breed, in Wyoming) with comprehensive experience leading calving barn on 1200 head operation. Full resume, cover letter and references upon request.

EQUIPMENT & HORSES

Bringing two seasoned ranch horses: One primary, highly capable top horse and one solid older horse suitable for close-up cattle work and routine tasks. We also have a well behaved corgi. He is not a cow dog.

ADDED VALUE TO THE OPERATION

Morgan’s wife is a seasoned, capable ranch hand who serves as a bonus asset to the ranch. Depending on her schedule (there is a possibility of entertaining part time employment if needed), she is available to pitch in during high-demand seasonal work like calving, shipping, branding, or processing. She also brings two professional credentials to the property:

Licensed Paramedic: Emergency and critical care credentials and safety capability for remote operations.
Professional Auctioneer: (Non-livestock).

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Since leaving our long-time base in Wyoming, we have been searching for the right outfit to call home. We are looking for a stable, progressive commercial ranch—or Possibly a working guest ranch where cattle production is still the primary focus—in a milder climate where we can settle in, put down roots, and contribute long-term.
