Greetings! I’m Jerrod, from western Arkansas. Hope all is well with you and yours. I am in search of an entry level position on a ranch and/or farm. I am wanting to submerge myself into profession that although will be stressful and difficult, will be rewarding as well.
After spending October in North Dakota/Minnesota driving a tractor trailer (NO CDL) for sugar beet for family of a friend, I grew to appreciate even more everything that goes into providing for the country. Other than driving for that harvest, I have no experience in the field when it comes to other aspects of farming. I have operated tractors in the past around family land.
Growing up and in my adult hood I have been around domestic animals, livestock, equine. After an early retirement from the military, I took over as the sole Animal Control Officer/Code Enforcement for the City of Greenwood, AR. My duties scope was extended in that many times I was assisting other agencies with welfare checks, trapping or euthanasia of livestock, equine, domesticated animals, etc. in serious cases. I was certified by the State of Arkansas on the euthanasia of animals. Furthermore, I have experience in loading, unloading and transportation of livestock.
Lastly, my years in the service taught me to be part of something bigger than myself and honestly, I couldn’t think of anything bigger, so here I am.
