I’m a versatile individual with a strong work ethic seeking full-time employment as a Kennel Manager – Bird Dog Trainer – Upland Guide Off Season Grounds Keeper-Habitat Worker. Prefer a position with a 10 dog up 30 dog string of bird dogs.
- I have 20 plus years of experience with the training and handling of both Flushing, Retrieving and Pointing breeds. References available by request.
- I also have 20 plus years of experience with guiding 5 Star quality Upland hunts with both released and wild birds. References available by request.
- My other position related skills include – ensuring a healthy environment for a multiple bird dog kennel. To include twice a day kennel washout and the daily off season exercise and conditioning program for the Bird Dogs.
- I have experience with the care and the healthy management of numerous species of release birds to include, Pheasant, Hungarian Partridge, Chukar and Quail.
- I’m experienced with Upland focused habitat projects, for example – the planting and watering of 36,000 trees to include Cedars, Junipers, Plums and Choke Cherries divided in seven large shelter belts on a private property in SD. Reference available by request.
- I’m have experience with the grounds keeping duties related to a higher end property.
- I’m experienced with sporting clays and the shooting instruction as needed for guests, to include brand new shooters.
- I’m experienced with predator control techniques – to include running a trap line.
- I’m an experienced with both Fly Fishing for Trout and boat fishing for Walleye.
- I’m experienced with the overall duties required in relation to a higher end recreational property and I have a strong attention to detail to ensure excellence.
- I have the skills to resolve complicated issues as they arise and I feel comfortable with providing Surveillance – Security as a Collateral duty for a remote location.
- MY Prior Service MOSs include – 19D Scout, 11B Infantry and 47M Dragon Gunner with the Scout Platoon of the 1st Armored Brigade Combined Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division.
- I have a high level of fitness – non-smoker.
- I’m a team player with strong communication skills and I can also work independently as needed – required. And long days are expected.
Working with Bird Dogs is my passion and I thoroughly enjoy sharing the Upland hunting experience with others. My professional career as a sub-contracted Landman has allowed me the flexibility over the years to guide Upland hunts seasonally and train bird dogs part time. Again now it’s my aspiration to work as a full time – Kennel Manager- Bird Dog Trainer and Upland Guide.
I’m searching for the right fit opportunity, where there’s a strong focus on high quality Bird Dogs and hosting the highest quality Upland hunting experience possible in the field for guests and or the owner and family. I’m open to an opportunity with either a commercial operation or a privately owned family-recreation property.
I’d be excited and prefer to relocate to a small town – remote setting to include – SD, ID, MT, WY, OR, ND, UT, NV, or similar. Prefer onsite housing within a short commute to the kennel to ensure a higher level of supervision and to be immediately available for any type of added care needed or emergency with a lodge bird dog.
