Hi! I grew up on a commercial cattle ranch in a small town in Montana. I am now currently living in Arizona where I attended the University of Arizona studying animal science and genetics for two years. I am too young to take over my parents place and want to gain experience working with other ranches before I take over.
Some skills that I have gained growing up on a ranch and having jobs in college are:
- Livestock Skills: basic veterinary care, supervising ranch upkeep, cowboying, buy and sell cattle, maintain fences and water, basic machinery skills, and livestock care and feed
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office 2016: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Access, and Quick books
- Office Skills: Message taking, filing, copying, scanning, composing, and multi-line phones
- Works well under pressure, strong time management
- Excellent team player and leader; works effectively with others; takes initiative to get things done correctly and quickly
I’m a quick learner and I’m eager to be learning. I’m also a very hard worker and I take a lot of pride in my work and the skills I have to offer. There’s no operation that I won’t look into. I’m currently located in Arizona/Montana but I’m willing to relocate WY, TX, CO, ND, SD, NV, OK, ID, NE, or UT for the right job. Depending where it’s at I may need housing; however, I don’t have any animals or other people with me, just me!
Preferably, I don’t want a seasonal job. I would like to be at one operation for a while.
