Ranches, Lands, Operations, and Business Manager

Manager of ranches, lands, operations, and business with over 20 years of proven leadership overseeing high-quality working ranches and rural investment properties with executive care. Extensive experience in ranch management as well as real estate services, ranch consulting, logistics, and comprehensive business operations.

Highly skilled in maintaining and improving ranches in complete alignment with ownership goals and interests. Areas of experience include:

  • General Management: Balanced oversight of land and natural resources, business and finance, human resources, infrastructure, livestock, operations, and maintenance; effective integration of office and field operations. Mostly for absentee owners.
  • Leadership & Supervision: Clear communication, planning, and direct supervision of employees, seasonal labor, and contracted services.
  • Land & Real Estate Management: Representation and management of land interests including licensed real estate transactions (acquisitions and sales), leases, easements, energy interests, professional land operations (ranching/farming), and maintenance, to optimize returns.
  • Personnel Management: Recruiting, hiring, training, developing, and supervising ranch employees.
  • Projects & Maintenance: Year-round maintenance and improvement projects of property, equipment, and infrastructure, including building construction, dirt work, corrals, fencing, water systems, roads, heavy equipment operation, grounds, etc.
  • Livestock Operations: Full-spectrum, year-round livestock production and care including herd health, genetics, calving, branding, grazing management, weaning, feeding, yearlings, marketing (including large herd acquisitions and years of marketing calf crops), plus horsemanship and equine management.
  • Land Operations & Resource Management: Professional grazing systems and practices (rotational, irrigated MIG, regenerative), haying, farming, irrigation, forestry, and land improvement projects to enhance productivity, opportunity, and returns.
  • Business & Consulting: General management of diverse, quality ranch properties, ranch consulting, real estate brokerage services specializing in farm and ranch properties, and management of a logistics company.
  • Negotiation & Procurement: Of all vendor services, labor, equipment (farm equipment, heavy equipment/const. trucks, trailers, tools, etc), land interests, and livestock.
  • Government & Agency Coordination: Management and coordination with government and conservation agencies including BLM, USFS, USDA, State Lands, and conservation organizations such as The Nature Conservancy, plus local government.
