Paula H.
⭐️ working visa approved
Hi, I’m Paula. I graduated from high school about a year ago and I’m looking for a position as a wrangler or ranch hand where I can continue gaining hands-on experience while contributing the skills I already have.
I have over 8 years of English riding experience and have spent many years around horses and barns. During that time, I helped with general stable work, cared for horses, and assisted with teaching riding lessons to children.
Last year I also had the opportunity to volunteer on a ranch in Canada. I worked with different animals and helped wherever I was needed, which gave me a great introduction to ranch life. That experience made me realize how much I enjoy the ranch lifestyle and working outdoors with animals.
Since returning home to Germany, I’ve continued to gain experience. I’ve been helping at a horse stable, started taking western riding lessons, and completed an internship with a large animal veterinarian in Austria, where I learned a lot about cattle health and was able to assist with different tasks, such as calving, castration and giving injections and medication.
I’m generally very comfortable working with animals and enjoy being around them. I’m used to working outdoors and don’t mind long or physically demanding days. I’m a quick learner, adaptable and flexible, and I’d like to help wherever I’m needed.
Before coming to Canada, I will most likely also complete an internship at a horse stable that includes agricultural work, and work with another large animal veterinarian to continue learning.
Skills and Experience:
(I’m more than happy to send my CV and references with more details.)
- 8+ years of riding experience
- Experience with horse care, stable work and general ranch and farm tasks
- Some hands-on experience with cattle
- Confident and calm working with different kinds of animals
- Strong organizational skills
- Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented
- Good practical and hands-on skills
What I’m looking for:
I’m looking for a ranch that is open to someone who already has some experience but is still learning. My goal is to gain as much hands-on experience with horses, cattle, and ranch work as possible while also becoming a reliable and helpful part of the team.
Working with animals is something I would like to pursue as a future career, which is why gaining practical experience is very important to me.
My time volunteering on a ranch made me realize how much I enjoy ranch life and the lifestyle that comes with it, and I would love the opportunity to return to Canada and continue learning while working on a ranch.
I already have my working visa approved. Currently I’m finishing my driver’s license, so I can’t give an exact arrival date yet, but I will be ready to come as soon as possible after that. I should be available by July this year at the latest.
I’m flexible with timing and open to staying for several months or longer depending on what works best.
If you’re looking for someone motivated, hardworking, reliable and eager to learn, I would be very happy to hear from you.
