Riding-
• 8 years, individual as well as group instruction in English tack- walk, trot, canter, jump
• Numerous shows, ranking primarily in the top five in each
• Experience across a wide range of horses both English and Western
• 5 years in Western tack- walk, trot, canter, gallop, jump
• 2 years of trail guide experience
• Given “problem” horses to make customer friendly
• Blazed and maintained trails on horseback
• Rode as advanced rider at Dude Ranches in Montana and New York
Wilderness Camping-
• Eagle Scout, Boy Scouts of America
• 10 day, 30 mile backpacking trip with Outward Bound
• 7 day Native American wilderness survival and religion program
• Camping with limited resources i.e. no tent or sleeping bag, tarp camping, primitive brush shelters, 72 hour scenarios involving self rescue
• Winter camping in sub zero temperatures
• Orienteering 7, years, specializing in land navigation, route finding, and how to navigate without commercial aids
• Knowledgeable in outdoor cooking, food storage, packing, and transport, as well as dutch oven cooking, and open fire cooking
• Have an understanding of wilderness first-aid, improvised first-aid implements, as well as how to use standard commercial kits
