Description:

Property Manager (Full Time) – Responsible for management of care & upkeep of landscaping, homes, horse barn, and equipment on a private 500+ acre property in Sonoma, California. Reports to the owner and works in conjunction with the horse barn manager, other employees and outside contractors.

This is an on-call position which has irregular hours and requires the ability to prioritize tasks and follow through on projects. Must be self motivated, take initiative, and enjoy being part of a team.

This position is at times physically demanding and includes working with large hand tools and heavy equipment outdoors. Housing provided onsite.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Available on site or as on call caretaker of property
  • Manage ranch hands / additional help / contractors
  • Watchman– general property security
  • Setting up appointments and meeting with outside contractors
  • Oversee and assist landscape maintenance crews, including:
    • Irrigation systems – seasonal adjustments, maintenance and repair
    • Seeding, mowing – pastures and lawns
    • General sweeping and leaf blowing
    • Weed eating, trimming, pruning, weed spraying/fertilizing
  • Provide assistance to Barn Manager when requested:
    • Tractor work – drag arena and round pen
    • Clean and maintain horse stalls, water, and pastures
    • Able to haul horses to vet appointments, training facilities
    • Shavings, hay, feed (help with orders and deliveries)
  • Maintain trails and fencing, general ranch upkeep 
  • Help prepare and set up for events hosted on property
  • Maintaining equipment and proper safety

Horse Barn Help (Part Time)

This position supports basic barn chores: cleaning stalls, turnout, feeding, watering, making grain. There are also plenty of opportunities to ride for the right candidate, including trail riding and/or flat lessons on our horses, depending on your goals. 

We are seeking a reliable worker who loves horses, can follow directions, has an eye for cleanliness and organization.

This position reports to and can cover for the barn manager, who lives onsite.
