Family ranch (not a working ranch) with a few longhorns and pleasure horses. Duties include a wide range of tasks needed to keep the ranch and the animals in good shape, including the following (under the direction of the Ranch Manager):
- Care of horses – exercising, feeding, grooming, trailering to vet appointments, assisting with farrier visits, preparing for and leading occasional trail rides, routine medical care, tending to special needs of senior horses, and cleaning pastures and barns
- Assisting ranch owners as needed (running errands, such as grocery and supply pickup, post office/shipping, banking, etc.,) and other projects
- Pet sitting owner’s two dogs and three cats when they are away
- Assisting with other duties, as required, i.e. picking up feed/supplies, mowing, trimming, operating ranch equipment (tractors, drags, etc.)
- Schedule includes feeding horses and steers every other weekend
Some experience with horses is required, will train as needed.
