The Ranch Coordinator works with supervision from the equine supervisor to maintaining a clean, safe, and fun environment at the ranch, where children and adults, many with disabilities, receive therapeutic horsemanship and outdoor education.

List of Essential Duties

  • Maintains care of 30 -50 animals at Camp Ranch (including daily feeding, grooming, health needs, exercise)
  • Trains horses and small animals to interact/behave appropriately around campers with diverse needs
  • Maintains auxiliary ranch programs including Gold Panning and Nature. Evaluates, inventories, and orders equipment and supplies for Ranch
  • Maintains Ranch facilities, including fence upkeep, mowing, arena care, cleaning facilities, trail care and maintenance
  • Understands use of required equipment, including riding equipment, driving/harness equipment, tractor and implements, driving a truck with trailer, off road vehicles (such as mule/gator)
  • Creates innovative programming for campers to receive therapeutic horsemanship and outdoor education
  • Researches and selects new animals to add to Ranch program
  • Obtains required program certifications, including CPR training, Horseback Riding Instructor Training, PATH Instructor Certification
  • Supervises ranch staff, as well as program staff, in implementing riding/ranch programs
  • Leads staff and volunteers in accomplishing goals of Camp For All by setting a positive example and serving as a mentor
  • Communicates effectively to employees and delegates responsibilities Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Develops, implements and maintains records of safety standards to be followed by all ranch and program staff, in accordance with Camp For All, the Texas Department of Health, American Camping Association (ACA) standards, and OSHA
  • Maintains flexible work schedule with the ability to work extended hours
