Job Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Ranch Manager to oversee the seamless operation and maintenance of our agricultural property. The Ranch Manager will play a pivotal role in managing both livestock and crops efficiently to optimize productivity and sustainability. This role requires a strategic blend of hands-on fieldwork and administrative oversight, ensuring the smooth coordination of tasks ranging from animal care and crop management to budgeting and staff supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the ranch, including crop production operations, planning, tilling, planting, harvesting, and monitoring activities such as irrigation and fertilizer application
  • Manage all aspects of production, including pruning, irrigation, spraying, ground maintenance, harvest, packing, storage, and logistics of raspberry and hay crops
  • Manage livestock (cattle, with others to be determined over time)
  • Operate and maintain machinery essential for cultivating and maintaining land, ensuring productivity and efficiency
  • Develop and adhere to a budget for ranch operations, purchasing supplies, managing expenses, and negotiating contracts for transportation and logistics services
  • Implement sustainable land management practices to preserve natural resources and ensure the long-term viability of the ranch
  • Market and sell ranch products to generate revenue and manage ranch staff, assigning tasks, scheduling work hours, and evaluating performance
  • Liaise with ranch stakeholders, partners, and neighbors and navigate regional, federal, and international regulations and best practices
  • Promote sustainable land use that supports biodiversity, balancing livestock needs with the preservation of native flora and fauna
