The Foreman / Caretaker is responsible for overseeing the entire ranch and communicating with the family owners on regular basis.

The ideal candidate will have, in addition to general ranching experience, some practical building and mechanical “handy-man skills” – plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry as well as experience with Irrigation, haying, fencing.

Highly reliable, punctual, excellent work ethic, positive attitude, able to prioritize work. Good Physical and mental health, hard working, honest, dependable, self motivated person.

Treat owners, co-workers, animals, property and equipment with respect.Must pass a criminal and drug background check. Must be able to work independently – but perform daily and weekly lists efficiently.

Daily feeding, watering and caring for livestock – Chickens, Horses, Cattle

Manage cow/calf stock including calving, managing cattle grazing, feeding, shots, vaccinate, sorting, penning, moving, winter-feeding, vet care, branding

Wildlife management, including feeding.

Operate, maintain, and repair farm equipment, machinery, tools, and equipment including but not limited to tractors, loaders, backhoes, dozers and dump trucks.

Maintaining all livestock handling equipment to ensure it is in proper working order. Maintain operational and maintenance records. Maintenance and cleanup of the ranch, Removing and properly disposing of trash and other debris.

Maintain, repair, and clean the equipment and facilities; Build, inspect, maintain and repair ranch structures (Constructing, repairing, and removing fence, roads, gates, and equipment as needed and as listed on preventive maintenance schedule.

Hay Production: planning and labor to prepare seedbed, plant, cultivate, irrigate, and harvest of crops

Noxious Weed Control

Upkeep, Fixing and maintaining of owners home and all ranch buildings.

Plant, maintenance and upkeep of owners garden.

Maintain, repair, clean and keep all recreational ranch equipment in working order at all times, including but not limited to motorcycles, snowmobiles, jet ski’s, cars, trucks, horse trailers.

Lawn mowing, landscaping, watering, general upkeep

Maintain Horse Facility;

Daily Feeding, Cleaning & Bedding of Stalls.

Check & Clean Automatic Waterers

Clean and organize Tack Rooms

Maintenance and repair of Fences, Paddocks, stalls, arena.

Hay & Grain Hauling, loading, unloading heavy bales and grain sacks. Working/Dragging arena with tractor.

Road Management including Snow Plow, Grading and maintaining roads

Wildfire Mitigation and response

Water well knowledge and experience

Maintaining security for the ranch;

General computer skills – email, scan, fax

Completing other projects as requested or necessary to achieve owner’s goals
