We are a family run, 500+ head working cow-calf ranch. As Ranch Foreman, your role is working in and overseeing the operations of the ranch. Responsibilities include all aspects of the daily ranching operation, including the care of the cattle and maintenance of property, pastures, fences, equipment, and facilities. Prefer prior experience in Texas or Oklahoma preferred.
Must live onsite. Housing provided.
Job responsibilities include:
- Feeding cattle
- Salt & mineral disbursement
- Move cattle as required (grazing plan & cattle work prep)
- Identify and treat sick cattle
- Fence repair & maintenance
- Mow & weed eat facilities
- Solar well repair & maintenance
- Facilities repair and maintenance
- Pasture management (mesquite & weed control)
- Bulldozer operations & maintenance
- Cattle inventory & reporting
The ideal candidate will:
- Be proficient in riding and working cattle on horseback
- Be proficient in computer use or willingness to learn
- Seek to improve the pasture, habitat and facilities of the ranch
- Have the discipline to work unsupervised and alone
- Be able to hire and manage seasonal and part-time help
- Seek continuing education opportunities
- Have exceptional interpersonal skills
- Have a willingness to try new ideas
- Be open to ranch diversification
