Position Overview
The Ranch Foreman oversees the daily operations of the ranch, ensuring livestock, land, equipment, and personnel are managed efficiently and safely. This role requires strong leadership, hands‑on experience with ranch work, and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast‑paced, outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities
Livestock Management
- Oversee daily care, feeding, health, and movement of livestock
- Monitor herd health and coordinate veterinary care when needed
- Manage breeding programs, calving/foaling seasons, and herd records
- Ensure proper pasture rotation and grazing management
Land & Facility Management
- Maintain fences, barns, corals, water systems, housing systems and ranch infrastructure
- Oversee irrigation, pasture upkeep, fence line and weed control
- Coordinate with management land improvement projects and seasonal work
Equipment, Operation & Maintenance
- Operate tractors, trucks, ATVs, skid steers, trac hoes and ranch machinery
- Perform routine maintenance and schedule major repairs
- Ensure safe use of all equipment by staff
Team Leadership
- Supervise ranch hands and H2A seasonal workers
- Train staff on livestock handling, safety procedures, and equipment use
- Create work schedules and assign daily tasks
- Maintain a positive, productive work environment
Administrative Duties
- Track inventory of feed, supplies, and equipment
- Retain accurate records of livestock, expenses, and ranch activities
- Assist with budgeting and planning
- Communicate regularly with ranch owners or managers
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in ranching, livestock handling, and land management
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to operate and maintain ranch equipment
- Knowledge of animal health, nutrition, and breeding
- Physically capable of demanding outdoor work in all weather
- Valid driver’s license

Work Environment
