Full time Ranch Foreman needed for purebred cow-calf operation in Elko, Nevada. Individual will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the ranch. This is a hands-on position responsible for cattle, haying and all other aspects required to maintain a ranch.
Duties include:
- Cattle: calving, doctoring, vaccinating, moving/sorting, freeze branding, bull turnout, helping with A.I./breeding, feeding winter hay, putting out minerals, etc.
- Farming: we put up our own hay, cutting, raking, baling hay, pivot maintenance, flood irrigation, etc.
- Fencing: build, repair and maintain barbwire fence and shipping corrals
- Maintaining ranch: spray noxious weeds, equipment repair and maintenance, light welding, coordinate building projects, etc.
- Supervision of seasonal employees and day labor
Requirements: A minimum of 5 years recent cow-calf experience is required. Must know how to operate ranch and haying machinery as well as pivots. Proficient with a computer, including Word, Excel and sending/receiving emails. Must be self-motivated, physically capable and comfortable living in a remote location.
Housing on site is provided along with a company truck for work use. No smoking, vaping or drugs on the ranch. Interested individuals must have a valid drivers license and insurance. Salary depends on experience. Paid time off and year-end bonus available based on performance.
