Glass Mountain Ranch - Franklin Mountain Management
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the team and help carry out our vision and goals. This is a modern ranching enterprise focused on asset management, land conservation, and infrastructure improvement.
Ranch activities here are diverse and ideal candidate will need to wear many hats, requiring someone who has an open mind and can see the big picture, plan for the long term, forecast and get ahead of problems.
We have many ongoing and future construction projects, using both outside contractors and in house labor. Ideal candidate would have basic aptitude for and interest in construction and willingness to increase that knowledge as the job requires.
Extreme attention to detail is a must. Ranch grounds, facilities, and equipment must be maintained at the highest level.
Though we are currently de-stocked due to persistent drought, the ranch typically runs a small herd of beef cattle, using grazing as a management tool for grassland restoration. Stockmanship, horsemanship, and low stress livestock handling are taken seriously.
Location, distances, and topography of the ranch require focus on efficiency and time management. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Some travel to sister ranch under the same ownership will be required to collaborate on projects and livestock work.
Experience is desired, but ultimately we are looking a person who is in sync with our goals and likes to work hard. Don’t let a lack of experience stop you from applying. We are willing to train the right candidate.
This is a very beautiful, well improved ranch. Ownership is on solid footing and staff are well supported. For the right person or family, it is a remarkable place to live and work, and we offer a special opportunity.
Part time employment available for spouse depending on interest and skills. Ranch manager reports to and will work closely with Area Ranch Manager who also lives on site. Ranch is in the Glass Mountains, 50 minutes northeast of Alpine, TX.
Competitive salary BOE. Excellent housing provided. Benefits include paid vacation, group health plans (medical, vision, dental, life insurance), 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
