Trainor Cattle Company is seeking a full-time ranch foreman for our cow-calf operation located near Watkins, CO. We currently run 700-1000 head of cattle and 100 head of sheep on mixed grass and tallgrass prairie using cell grazing principles. We also run a seasonal backgrounding lot to wean calves and start stocker cattle. We appreciate honesty, strong work ethic, and openness to trying new ideas.

Job duties: Ranch foreman position is responsible for all day-to-day ranch duties including cattle work, fencing, equipment maintenance and record-keeping. May be responsible for supervising 1-2 ranch hands. Ranch foreman will work closely with ranch manager on grazing planning and will participate in weekly planning meetings. We use both ATV’s and horses. If you are looking for a strictly horseback job, this is not the job for you.

Requirements: Self-starter, valid driver’s license with clean record, prefer at least 3 years of experience but will consider less for the right motivated candidate.
Preferred qualifications: mechanical skills, experience with welding, fencing, calving, grazing management, record-keeping. Interest in holistic planned grazing, low stress cattle handling and multi-species operations a plus.
