Full time, resident position on 10,000 acre cow, calf, and sheep ranch operation in west Texas. Located roughly 2 hours west of San Antonio in Kimble and Sutton counties. Ranch life experience is required.
Seeking self-motivated, hard working ranch foreman to manage a 10,000 acre cow, calf, and sheep operation. Must be able to live in ranch house located on property. Must have background in the cow, calf management field. Knowledge of cattle breeds, diseases, vaccinations, feeding programs, agriculture equipment, cattle working operations, grasses, and weeds, is required. A bachelor’s degree in Ranch Management or another agriculture related field is preferred. Extensive relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Individual will be required to work 40 hours/week. Some weekend and night work will be necessary.
Experience in the following areas is required:
Ranch Management
Cattle working techniques
Must be able to ride horse and work cattle horse back
Managing a budget and expense account
Efficiently prioritizing ranch work
Familiarity with cattle diseases
Fence construction and maintenance
Basic mechanical skills
Basic carpentry skills
Basic plumbing skills
Individual must be a US citizen and have at least 5 years experience on a working cattle ranch. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in all weather elements. Must speak and write English. Spanish is a plus, but not required. Individual will be required to pass a drug test and be willing to take part in random drug tests if hired. Must clear a criminal background check and have a valid driver’s license. What we offer:
